Yip, Yip Yoorah!

4:49am

Since Gus has been weaned off the Phenobarbital he has become a Super Hero.  Flying up on the bed as if he is wearing a cape and fancy red panties, he lands on the persons head and stands there, perfectly still, like a bronze statue.  lt is time for breakfast.

The others start their own cacophony as the person stirs and tries to get the Super Gus off of her one paw at a time.  Have you ever seen a fainting goat? How they stiffen up before they go down?  This is how the new Gus stands on top of his person's head in the wee hours of the morning.  Form of bronze statue, shape of Pit Bull/Akita dog.

Port starts the melody with Yip Yip, Yip Yip then they all chime in...Tap Tap Tap like Bob Ross on PBS (Shady) as she scurries across the tile in the kitchen, Mew, Mew, MeeeeoooooW (Leila and Quinn) Snort/Heavy Breather (Gus), and  Dance Dance Revolution (Velvet).  Yip Yip Yip Yip, Tap Tap Tap, Mew Mew MeoooooW, Snort Sigh Snort, and Dance Dance Revolution-she is taking lessons twice a week-getting expensive.

Breakfast Routine....Shady eats first near the refrigerator, Gus opposite of Shady, Velvet in the living room, Port on the bed, and Quinn and Leila in the guest room.  This is where they eat their breakfast in peace as the person shuffles back to bed.

Wait until dinner..........................

  1. I have much the same experience in the morning. I get a lot of skittering of cats bouncing through the house, Olga bark-bark-barking, Jarvik woo-wooing, Grover tap dancing in his kennel, and with neonatal puppies in the house right now there is little piggy grunting. And then me groaning in the winter early morning dark.
